Nabuqi: Geopoetics regarding a waterless sea at Kiang Malingue

Nabuqi: Geopoetics regarding a waterless sea at Kiang Malingue

A classical case of “do as I say not as I do”: the artworks are based on a novel written specifically for this exhibition by Chen Si’an so I do recommend reading it online before going to the gallery. Otherwise, you’ll have to make your own story and compare it with the original one later (which is an undeniably fun thing to do). Just keep in mind that it’s a poetic and metaphorical story of the sea as a creature, the last of the Tanka people, topographical cataloging, land language and memory, and the good old “map is not a territory” notion.

Exhibition period: 12.09–12.10
Gallery address: 10 Sik On Street, Wanchai
