Movana Chen: Love Letters at Flowers Gallery

Shredded and knitted here are the hand-written letters sent to Movana by her friends, family and loved ones over several decades — more than 180 letters! I asked Movana if she remembered which letter corresponded to each knitted artwork and she said that she re-read and photographed each of them before the transformation. This series consists of smaller than usual artworks, but isn’t that true to the letters themselves — compact sheets of paper that hold so many feelings, thoughts and emotions?
