Photographs of marble statues printed on marble, ripply reflections from an antique mirror printed on fabric, sunlight on the architectural plaster ornament printed on plasterboards — trompe l'oeil expressed through materials rather than from the traditional attempt to trick your eye and mind into suggestive illusions. I love the juxtaposition with ancient Roman sculptural objects; while being technically two-dimensional Elisa’s works have a third dimension of returned materiality of the original object she was capturing, making them closer to those antique remnants.
