Bruce Nauman at Tai Kwun Contemporary

Bruce Nauman at Tai Kwun Contemporary

Last chance to see Bruce Nauman at Tai Kwun Contemporary. I find it quite interesting that with artist’s artists you almost automatically have permission — almost an indulgence in a historical sense — not to like them. As if all of us unknowingly signed a contract that obliged us to love, understand and appreciate all other artists. But I digress.
Good thing about institutional career-overview type of shows is that you got to see variety of mediums, styles, and scales, while also getting the sense of themes and concepts the artist had addressed. Sometimes you can see questions that were left unanswered. Issues that were not resolved. Subjects that were returned to over and over. Core things. Curious things. Important things. You still don’t have to love them but they are worth looking at.

Exhibition period: 15.05-18.08
Venue address: Tai Kwun Contemporary, Central
