I enjoy visiting artists and seeing their studios. I show them the way I see them, hopefully revealing something interesting.

Sotheby’s Autumn Sale Preview, part 3.
Yes, this entire post is about someone’s private collection of Chinese art. I don’t know anything about the collector (and I am definitely not qualified to talk about contemporary Chinese art) but this looks like a very well rounded collection and it’s very easy to imagine the sense of awe and excitement of discovery behind it. Mixed feelings on seeing it however: I truly appreciate the chance to see it, at the same time it’s sad to think that it won’t be existing as a collection anymore.
