Go Hung: [uk1] [lau6] [pin1] [fung4] [lin4] [ye2] [yu5] at Karin Weber Gallery
Go Hung is constantly pouring the light onto the most dark and sad aspects of Hong Kong living. Being the most expensive city to live in, Hong Kong simultaneously has one fifth of the population living in poverty. With the highest rent in the world the city has a wide array of problems including an ongoing housing crisis. All of that combined with pandemic and various social unrest can be indeed described as [uk1] [lau6] [pin1] [fung4] [lin4] [ye2] [yu5], which could be translated as “when it rains it pours”.
Using soap bars, everyday objects and materials collected from streets on his constant city scavenging Go Hung highlights the poignant mundanity of those problems.
