Paraphrasing the song: “so far no matter how close”. Two koi mermen can never meet. Is it a sad thing? Is it a good thing? Is it what it is? Are there actually the different sides of the same creature and therefore it’s impossible for them to occupy the same space? The artist deliberately made her characters ambiguous and the setting is open for interpretations. So you can very much use this exhibition as a projective test.
