Group exhibition “Residue” at Hong Kong Arts Centre
Graphite and charcoal, pencil and pastel leaving lines, traces, layers, and yes, a residue, used in a title to mean psychoanalytic “day residue” which is a dream related to an experience of the previous day, or in broader term lifelong impacts of the significant events. Interesting enough there’s also a concept of emotional residue — a belief that people's emotions leave traces in the physical environment, which can later be sensed by others. If it’s true there’s still an imprint of my strong adoration of the works by Tang Kwong San at the staircase, you‘ll never get rid of it.
